Missed the Metaphor Special Assignment

I am not really sure why I missed the metaphor in Tom Johnson's post. I did not realize that the entire story was made up but, I knew that he was trying to get a point across. To help students understand metaphors, educators can go over the meaning of a metaphor and use them often. I think that people use metaphors to keep things interesting and not boring. They can also be used to really get people to start thinking more.
